A little known fact is, I can’t actually swim…no really, in my real every day life, it’s just not something I picked up. I have 2 brothers, and my late father was a swimming instructor. Teaching me how to swim, was literally like throwing a cat in the water and hoping for the best. I do wish I could, I even took classes in my twenties, but it was not meant to be.

It’s a great analogy for my life though, I throw myself into the deep end, and thrash my way back to the edge or cling to the nearest item floating past.

Night Heat

She couldn’t sleep, she had been tossing and turning for a few hours, but the heat was intolerable. Kitten poured a glass of cool water and headed for her balcony, hoping for some air. As she stepped out, a soft swirling breeze greeted her, delighted, she leaned back over the rail, the air blowing through her hair from below, cooling her sweat covered skin, she closed her eyes blissfully.

Friendship

I’ve spent the last 10 hours or so, thinking about something that was bothering me. After a fair few months, I finally took action. A friendship has been on the rocks for some time, and one of us had to take that first step.

I am petrified of confrontation, but this person has been in my life for a long time, has had my back, and I’ve had theirs. We’ve shared up and down, laughter and tears, and  many private thoughts.

I’m so glad I bit the bullet and reached out. If someone, or something means that much, take action.
